Wow. All this time, I was waiting for the day when I’d be spiritually mature enough to not be tempted to procrastinate. Hah. What. a huge. lie.
I always thought that It would be the temptation that was gonna go away, but I was wrong. The temptation isn’t one that’s gonna go away or change, it’s me.
(So, let’s have a little bible drill, shall we? I know it’s a lot, but it’s delicious. you have to open the chocolate to be able to eat it. Kun’di, either donya o hari ka, o di kaya baby, na laging kailangang sinusubuan. hehehe :3)
- As we put off our old selves (Eph 4:22 & 2 Cor 5:17)
- As we set aside our desires to have the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God in our lives (1 Cor 10:13, Phil. 3:7-8 & Rom 12:2)
- As we offer our bodies as living sacrifices (Rom 12:1)
- As we get transformed by the renewing of our mind (Rom 12:2 & Eph 4:23)
- As our armor gets upgraded (Eph 6:13-17) and we stop waging war as the world does (2 Cor. 10:3-5)
- As we become humbled, acknowledge our weakness, and become stronger because of our dependence on God (2 Cor 12:9)
We will be able to resist it better that we did the last time.
We will regularly encounter them, but lets keep in mind that we are being trained, so that when it comes up again, it will be easier to resist.
THE RACE: Let’s run like we’re aiming for the Prize(1 Cor 9:24). Let’s keep our eye on the prize, and focus on Jesus.
THE BATTLE: Remember, we are in battle; and we are being trained to fight bigger battles— But the ultimate battle has already been won by Jesus, so there’s really no need to be frightened or to worry about what’s coming up. Because we’re in a battle, let’s not let our guard down either. Our spiritual senses are being trained to spot sin and temptation. Once we spot it, kill it. :3
Guys, sa training diba, di lang physical conditioning ang kailangan, kun’di mental, emotional, at spiritual conditioning din. That’s why we’ve gotta fan the flame! Get that passion burning bigger and brighter!
Read the word! Fall inlove with God everyday! Know who and what you’re living and fighting for!
Be in fellowship! (di lang lakwatsa ha, fellowship— Talk about God.)
Be accountable to someone! (but of the same gender, please. nakonako, mahirap na yan haha. but srsly.) Don’t fight alone! it’s dangerous!
Another thing to clear out is that there will not come a point wherein we will be spiritually mature enough to not be tempted anymore. WELL, DUH JESUS WAS GOD AND HE WAS TEMPTED. beat that. :)) Satan even appeared in front of him to do it himself pa nga eh. Therefore, being spiritually mature enough to not be tempted is a busted myth. NOT GONNA HAPPEN. Fight it with the word. Kaya read your bible! :)) (Nag quiet time ka na ba? /:) )
Like I said, it’s not the temptation that’s gonna change, it’s us who’s gonna change. When we become more like Christ, our desires will change, our priorities will change, our values will change, our taste will change. Kaya pag bumalik nanaman si temptation from old life, we won’t desire it as much, prioritize it as much, value it as much, and like it as much either.
Lastly, when you fall, GET BACK UP. Jesus died for you so that you could receive forgiveness and stop being guilty without having to go through the trouble of chooping up goats, lambs, bulls and birds depending on what your sin is and scraping out all their fat along with the kidneys and burning it, and offering flour and bread made without yeat and wafers spread with oil (hassle noh? grabs.) and having a priest to sacrifice it and make the attonement for you because you aren’t anointed enough to do it yourself. (Not to mention, doing this each time you sin and become aware that you’ve sinned.) Come on. HOW CAN YOU NOT BE SO THANKFUL AND ACCEPTING OF JESUS? He was the sacrifice. He is your priest. He did the atoning. You are the reason. And he did it willingly because He loves you. He wants you to be able to be with Him, to have a relationship with Him, and to have power over that sin. So when you trip, get back up. What you just did has already been paid for. No need to feel guilty, just humble, grateful, and worshipping. There’s another test coming up so train for it.
Hindi naman ‘to isang bagsakan na mai-aaply natin lahat, pero there might be something, even just one thing, that you needed exactly at this point. I know naman na God’s gonna work out the rest as we grow in Him and seek Him. (Phil 1:6 & Eph 3:20)
So, hehe, back to homework now. :)))
"If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you , but you must master it."
SOOOO. Choose one thing that struck you the most and think about how you’re gonna apply that in your life rytnow. I’m talking about coming up with an action sentence and not just a thought sentence :3 You can tell me about it if you like, or message me or something. mwamwa! :*
p.s. I keep doing
so that it doesn’t look boring. hahaha. :D hope it worked. :3
